If you have ever played Garten of Banban, then you are likely familiar with the terrifying and highly destructive gameplay style it offers. While in part 1, players were limited to the daycare area, Garten of Banban 2 allows exploration of a massive underground facility beneath the kindergarten. Here, new and more challenging puzzles and obstacles await, making the game even more frightening than before. In my view, this game has everything adventure and exploration enthusiasts could ask for. While part 1 focused less on promoting exploration, it successfully emphasized the horror aspect. Part 2 retains the same atmosphere as part 1 but with a key improvement: players can now delve deeper into the kindergarten as the game reveals undiscovered secret passageways beneath it.
Similar to the first part of the game, upon entering the basement area, I immediately sensed the eerie atmosphere that the game portrays. The darkness is pervasive, with only the dim light of a flashlight to guide our way. It is evident that beneath this kindergarten lies a vast underground labyrinth filled with numerous hazardous secrets. Our alertness will be heightened as we strive to avoid encounters with frightening creatures.
While I expected the second part of this game to feature scarier monsters than the first part, it actually surprised me with an unexpected amount of surprises. In addition to the horror elements carried over from the first part, the second part introduces players to a range of intriguing character options. Players can now select from a diverse cast of characters, including eccentric scientists and mutant creatures, each with their own unique and interesting personalities. A notable advancement in this game's second installment is the opportunity to revisit familiar characters from the first part and delve deeper into their stories.
It is necessary for us to venture deep into the maze located beneath the kindergarten in the game. By exploring the furthest reaches of this underground location, we may discover valuable resources like ropes or bones, which can be utilized to craft essential items for evading the monsters that are on the hunt.
The game's horror is not as interesting as the numerous clever puzzles it presents, which demand players to think logically and observe closely in order to solve them. The puzzles seem to be even older than Banban himself, suggesting that the area was once inhabited by mysterious beings who have left behind these challenging tests for players to decipher. I appreciate these details in the game because solving the tough puzzles not only allows me to progress but also gives me a sense of satisfaction and pride.
