GTA: Chinatown Wars is a highly regarded game within the Grand Theft Auto series developed by Rockstar, known for creating successful PC versions of GTA games. The game aims to offer gamers a distinct experience by presenting a intricate storyline and varied gameplay. Like other GTA games, players can engage in a variety of activities including driving, combat, missions, and illegal actions.
Even though this game is part of Rock Star's GTA series, it stands out from previous versions due to its unique characteristics. The game features a map with locations inspired by a real-life city that is not New York. It seems that Rock Star's decision to release this version was influenced by their desire to target the large player market in China, as they intentionally incorporated elements from Chinese locations into the game's map.
While there are a few negative reviews on Google Play criticizing the game, I personally believe that this game is actually very good. One of the reasons why I give it a positive rating is the engaging storyline. The protagonist is a member of a Chinese mafia family who goes to Liberty City to seek vengeance and regain his family's honor after being betrayed. Throughout his journey, he encounters rival gangs, while also getting involved in illegal activities such as drug and weapons deals to protect himself and his interests.
I believe that the characters in this game have not been meticulously designed, as I was unable to alter the original appearance of the character I was controlling. In previous versions of GTA, I had the freedom to customize my character's size, weight, and muscle definition. However, in this particular game, such customizations are not possible due to the limited eating and gameplay options. Moreover, I am unable to modify my character's overall appearance since there are no facilities available for such alterations. Additionally, the inability to access game facilities restricts me from changing costumes, and even the barber shop does not allow for modifications to hairstyles or beards.
While I have spoken highly of the game's storyline, I am disappointed in the graphics. The graphics of this game seem to have regressed compared to previous GTA versions. However, I do not believe this alone warrants classifying the game as weak. This is essentially a mobile version of GTA, so it is unrealistic to expect graphics on par with PC versions. From an objective standpoint, the graphics are adequate for playing on a phone, with everything easy to see and adjust to.
