If you enjoyed the original Mad Dex arcade game, you will definitely enjoy the sequel. The game follows the adventures of Mad Dex, a small hero who is a square and the main character. One day, a large monster kidnaps his 100-year-old sweetheart, Ms. Dex, and threatens to destroy the city once he has taken control of it. Determined to save his love, defeat the evil monster, and restore peace to the city, Mad Dex sets out on his mission. This compelling storyline is one of the reasons why Mad Dex is worth playing.
In general, I found the storyline of Mad Dex 2 to be compelling. While the central concept may not be original, the author's unique interpretation of it provides an interesting reading experience. Mad Dex's standout skill is parkour, which allows him to move at a slow pace. The protagonist, Dexter, a cube character, can release a sticky red substance that helps him climb tall obstacles and leap over lower ones.
During his journey, Mad Dex can discover helpful weapons and gear, like rockets he can attach to himself to flee without relying on parkour. Owning a gun that can shoot in all directions gives a significant edge in facing bosses, regardless of the number of barrels it has. While our main character can perform parkour, he possesses several other special abilities that will greatly assist you on your adventure.
At the end of every level, there is a difficult problem to solve which, once completed, will provide additional clues to a bigger mystery. This is why players become hooked on Mad Dex 2 once they start uncovering these "onions".
Executing precise timing and quick reflexes are crucial in Mad Dex 2 for activities like jumping, acrobatics, parkour, shooting, and rocket flight. You must also be agile to navigate past traps like sticky cogs and molten lava. Failure to understand the physics in the game may result in losing multiple lives, even for those who do grasp the mechanics. Despite the stunning visuals, the game's challenges can be quite painful to overcome.
